The ATPL theoretical training shall be of at least 750 study hours under JAA requirements. An applicant for an ATPL must have at least 1500 hours of experience and be at least 21 years old.
A "frozen ATPL" has become popular in the industry as slang for someone with a Commercial Pilot's license with a Multi-Engine class rating, a Multi-Engine Instrument rating and a certificate of MCC.
